LightSleeper uses light to help you sleep

November 17th, 2009 admin

If you’re having issues with getting to sleep at night, there’s another gadget out there that you could give a try.  After all, it’d be better than laying around in a sleep clinic and told to try to sleep while you’re on one of the most uncomfortable beds ever created.  Admittedly this method is a bit strange, but it’s worth a shot.  The LightSleeper actually uses light to help you sleep, which might seem a bit backwards.  If it works though, then it doesn’t really matter how odd it seems. The gadget projects a light image onto the ceiling.  It moves in a circular motion above your bed and after you follow the light with your eyes for a few minutes, you’ll begin to fall asleep.  If you wake back up again, you just tap the gadget and it’ll start the process over again.  Then after it’s been running for 30 minutes, it’ll kick off automatically.  You can purchase the gadget for £125 or about $209. Sleep Box lets you sleep soundly at the Airport
I’ve been on long trips before, but never so long that I have had to sleep at the airport. I know I mentioned this when we covered the Vertical Bed , but there is something very embarrassing about taking a nap in a public place. This is why Russian architects Arch Group designed the Sleep Box.  Read More →

Westek HomeFinder Flashing Screw-In Light Control
Helping people find your home is sometimes a bit obnoxious.  I’ve always had to give a very exact description, because I live in an apartment within a house and I don’t have an apartment number on my door.  Which has always made me worry about what’d happen if emergency officials needed to find my door.  This little screw...

Seiko Ocean Theater Alarm Clock lets you sleep with the fishes
Most clocks are just fine with merely playing the sounds of the ocean to lull you into a deep sleep.  Well this Seiko clock takes things even further than that.  Instead of just playing the sounds, it projects images of the ocean onto your bedroom wall.  Of course, it does that along with the time, it is still a clock after all.  It doesn’t...

Cheese Grater Light makes cheese graters almost stylish
Alright, so I’m aware it’s a touch on the strange side to put a light inside of a bright orange cheese grater.  However, being a person who has a tendency to wander the house at night, it’s always nice to have a dim light going in the kitchen.  Then if you’re going to keep a light in the kitchen, you might as well make...

Tio Light Switch teaches kids about energy conservation
Kids are notorious for leaving lights on.  They don’t have the burden of knowing how high that energy bill really is when they constantly leave the lights on within rooms they aren’t using.  This light switch was probably created to save the earth, but it might be nice to have purely to save your sanity.  With this visual reminder...

Basalte comes out with the fancy Mona Light Switch
Light switches have had the same boring design for many years.  The only way it can be changed up is typically to add a decorative light switch cover and usually those look incredibly cheesy.  Which means it’s best to just attempt to make the switch blend in with its surroundings.  Well now you have another option and yes, it is actually...

Super Guppy Street Light Floor Lamp
I’ve always had a certain fondness for traffic themed gadgets that get re-purposed.  Partially because it’s better than just tossing those items out and then just because I like the look of them.  Unfortunately, despite that they’d have just gone to the trash, the items like this are never cheap.  This Super Guppy floor lamp...
