If you walk on many city streets, you will often see the street name carved in the street itself. I’m guessing that is there for tourists who have lost their way, and designer Jaie Kwon has figured out a way for people to have a better sense of direction. It’s called the Map Hole, and it is designed to turn an ordinary sewer cover (politically correct word for manhole cover) into a round map and compass.  Read More →

What has taken years of development has resulted in a self-proclaimed “best underwater propulsion device” that is available in the market, making it the ultimate underwater scooter for both divers and snorkelers. Yes, the Bladefish Sea Scooters are capable of pumping out a whole lot more power compared to its predecessors that relied on lead acid propulsion  Read More →

By taking a few minutes to play and click around in iTunes, users can discover some interesting things hidden within Apple’s media management software. I think it’s safe to say a majority of us use iTunes to organize and play our music, among other things. One of the reasons it’s so popular is because there’s almost no learning curve  Read More →

Those RFID-reading iPhone stories just keep spinning around, boosted by news that Apple staff now wield iPod touch-based payment taking systems. It’s pretty clear Apple’s headed in a direction which includes payment processing systems through its devices, a direction competing company, Nokia, has tried – and failed – to take for years. iPhone won’t be the only mobile payment system, but it might be the best – after all...

Filed under: Hardware , MacBook , iPhone , iPod touch Time Magazine has published their list of 2009’s best travel gadgets, and the iPod touch and MacBook have made the cut. Time notes the MacBook’s size and high green ratings as well as the iPod touch’s speed, Wi-Fi compatibility and library of games worked in their favor. Most clocks are just fine with merely playing the sounds of the ocean to lull you into a deep sleep.  Well this Seiko clock takes things even further than that.  Instead of just playing the sounds, it projects images of the ocean onto your bedroom wall.  Of course, it does that along with the time, it is still a clock after all.  It doesn’t just project a pretty picture on the wall either, the fish in the picture actually react to...

I believe that hover technology is possible, and an episode of Mythbusters showed prototypes that were, at best, gigantic slow moving air hockey pucks. This is essentially what the Air Board is. I even saw a clip from an old Wife Swap episode which had the “Balloon Boy” family playing with hover technology, and it seemed to work better than their little charade.  Read More →

Whether you’re a student, an employee-in-training, or just someone trying to learn a new subject, studying can be a bore. Cram for Mac helps the situation by offering a fun and interactive way to learn. I’m admittedly terrible with tests and pretty much anything else that requires memorization.  Read More →
